A2 – Basic (Open category)
About the course:
A2 Basic is a fully remote online training programme. Video lessons and visual aids, you will gain all the theoretical knowledge required to obtain the EASA Open Category A2 certificate.
The learning pace is flexible – study when it suits you and take the exam when you feel ready.
Who is it for?
This course is designed for pilots who already hold a valid EASA A1/A3 certificate and wish to extend their qualification to EASA A2.
The A2 certificate is mandatory for operating drones with a C2 class marking within the A2 subcategory.
Training content
The online course covers the following core topics:
Safety and risk awareness
Technical flight performance
Meteorology
Technical and operational considerations
All content is fully aligned with EASA knowledge requirements.
Exam
After completing the course, candidates must pass:
A2 certification exam (30 questions)
Minimum passing score: 75%
The exam can be taken at any time.
If the first attempt is unsuccessful, multiple attempts are included in the price.
Important: A working web camera is mandatory for the A2 exam EASA exam.
Certificate
After successfully completing the course, you will be eligible to book a remotely proctored A2 examination for an additional fee.
Once you pass the examination, you will receive an EASA Open Category A2 Certificate, issued by the Latvian Civil Aviation Agency (CAA).
The certificate is valid throughout the European Union and authorizes drone operations in accordance with the EASA Open Category A2 regulations.
